VfL Wolfsburg will have to manage without Patrick Wimmer for the foreseeable future.
The Austrian international missed Wolfsburg's last two games against Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig due to a thigh injury that is still causing him problems, as the Bundesliga club announced on Thursday.
“Wimmer is a key part of our attack and, with his dynamism and mentality, a real difference-maker for us. Of course, we had hoped to see him back on the pitch sooner, but his injury needs time – and we’re giving him that time,” said Wolfsburg coach Daniel Bauer.
Wimmer, 24, has scored three goals and provided six assists in 19 matches for Wolfsburg this season.
