It almost looked like a done deal, now it's officially over: German centre-back Malick Thiaw will not complete a transfer to Cesc Fàbregas' Como!

Both clubs already had an agreement about a move worth €25 million, but Thiaw rejected the offer himself - why, has not been reported yet.

Milan bought Thiaw from Schalke in 2022 for about €9 million; the now 23-year-old has played 85 games for the Rossoneri since then. If Milan were to sell Thiaw, former club Schalke would be very happy: they'd receive 10% of the transfer sum!

Thiaw has often been rumoured to get a move back to Germany, with Leverkusen being the hottest contender this summer, until they decided to go for Jarrel Quansah.

Thiaw has already played 26 Bundesliga games in his career (all for Schalke) and also managed 3 games for the German national team.
