Alphonso Davies was subbed off in the 64th minute of FC Bayern München's 3-2 win over Hertha BSC on Saturday afternoon. Speaking at the post-match presser, FCB head-coach Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that the Canadian international had suffered a muscle tear.

"According to the doc, it's at least a fiber tear," Nagelsmann revealed, "We'll have to wait and see what info comes out tomorrow."

A muscle-fiber tear could potentially sideline Davies for up to 4-6 weeks. The played dubbed by his teammates as the "Bavarian roadrunner" is expected to lead his national team in their first appearance in the World Cup Finals since 1986.

The Canadian men's national team kick-off their World Cup campaign against Belgium in their opening group stage match in 18 days' time. Davies has been capped for his national team 35 times and scored 12 goals.
