Xabi Alonso rules out early return to Bayern for Stanisic

Xabi Alonso has put an end to speculation that Josip Stanisic's loan spell could be cut short.
According to a recent report, Bayern Munich would like to recall Josip Stanisic early from his loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen.

However, judging by what Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso said at a press conference on Wednesday evening, that doesn't seem to be a possibility.

"We still have many months until May. He has the experience, he has the quality. We need top players in every position. Josip can play in several positions. We are very happy with him, with his attitude every day," Xabi Alonso told reporters after Leverkusen's 5-2 win over Sandhausen in the DFB-Pokal.

"In the summer, we had a clear idea of how we wanted to build the squad. We wanted to be competitive in all competitions by December. We need two players of a good level for almost every position.

"At the moment we have a good balance. Our level of play is high, even with some changes. This is very important for us," explained the 41-year-old.

Stanisic, 23, has made eight appearances in all competitions for Leverkusen.
