VfB Stuttgart's chief marketing officer, Rouven Kasper, has long been linked with a board role at Bayern Munich.

Both Stuttgarter Nachrichten and Sky Germany now report that Kasper has informed the Stuttgart board of his desire to join the German champions.

Stuttgart are demanding a transfer fee for the 43-year-old, with negotiations between the clubs expected to begin soon.

Bayern have identified Kasper as a potential replacement for their current chief financial officer, Michael Diederich, who is set to step down from the board at the end of this month.

Kasper is no stranger to Munich, having served as Bayern's global sports director from the summer of 2016 until January 2022.
