Speaking to a media round on Tuesday, Jobe Bellingham highlighted his excitement towards playing his first competitive games for Borussia Dortmund.

"Dortmund already feels a bit like home. I can't wait for the games to start. Playing in America is nice, but it doesn't really feel like that's the reason you signed with Borussia Dortmund," he said.

The 19-year-old continued by saying how he doesn't hold any concerns towards being compared to his brother, Jude, and how BVB helped him ease into the expectations.

“Of course, you do have such thoughts […] But the club reassured me that it shouldn't weigh on me too much,” Bellingham explained, in a rather reassured manner.

Besides, he's not someone who lets other people's opinions influence him. "This is my journey," the young Englishman said confidently, to draw the line in the sand.

His brother, Jude, who played for Dortmund from 2020 to 2023 before joining Real Madrid for over €100million, was someone he initially contacted after signing for BVB.

“Jude was, of course, one of the first people I called when I signed my contract in Dortmund. He told me he was extremely proud of me and that I should enjoy everything,” he smiled.
