Bochum officially unveil Zeidler: "Looking forward to the challenge."

VfL Bochum officially confirmed Peter Zeidler as their new head-coach on Monday.

As had been rumored, Peter Zeidler will be the man tasked with helping VfL Bochum navigate an exceptionally tricky season in the German top-flight next year. The 61-year-old was confirmed as the officially successor to the sacked Thomas Letsch on Monday afternoon. Zeidler returns to Germany after 13 years abroad spent working in France, Austria, and Switzerland.

"Of course, the Bundesliga holds a special fascination for a German coach," Zeidler - who will be coaching a Bundesliga side for the first time - remarked at his introductory presser this afternoon, "It's the wrong time to make grand statements. I'm simply looking forward to the challenge."

"We found very interesting personality and an exciting coach with a very clear idea," VfL sporting director Marc Lettau added, “He is exactly the right man for the job. We have also gained an outstanding communicator in Peter Zeidler.”
