Mainz set to produce offer for Bøving, per L'Équipe
Die Nullfünfer are hoping to reinvest their Burkardt money wisely to find an appropriate successor.
Latest updates suggest Mainz have found their Jonathan Burkardt replacement, who left for Eintracht Frankfurt last week.
As reported by French source 'L'Équipe', the Bundesliga club is close to signing William Bøving.
It is believed a €4.5million transfer fee will be paid to Sturm Graz for the 22-year-old whose contract expires next summer.
Fellow German clubs SC Freiburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach also had scouts watching the Danish striker.
Bøving scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists across 42 matches in all competitions last season for the Austrian side.
