Plattenhardt wants to sign a new deal with Hertha

Marvin Plattenhardt wants to stay and help crisis-hit Hertha BSC get back on track.
Marvin Plattenhardt has revealed he wants to extend his contract with Hertha BSC, which expires in 2023.

"I want to help get Hertha back on a better track. I want to be a part of that. Talks will be held in the near future," Plattenhardt told the Berliner Kurier.

Having played for Hertha since 2014, the 30-year-old left-back has experienced both ups and downs in Berlin.

"You still have the years in your head when things were better. When we were seventh and sixth," said Plattenhardt, who scored the winning goal in Hertha's 2022 relegation play-off against Hamburger SV.

"Of course, we had more fun then because we won more games and performed as a cohesive team. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case in recent years for various reasons. You could see that. And that was very energy-sapping."
