Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has reacted to reports suggesting that Bayern Munich briefly showed interest in him as a possible replacement for Manuel Neuer, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury.

"As I have said many times in the 13 years of my professional career: When something like that comes up, it's a good sign because it's a confirmation of your performances," Trapp told Kicker.

"We know what kind of goalkeeper Manuel is... Accordingly, I haven't really dealt with it much. I read about it, of course, but we are in the middle of the season here."

It's far from the first time Trapp has been linked with a move away from Eintracht Frankfurt. Last summer, Manchester United showed interest in him.

"I rejected something in the summer because we still have something very nice planned here. That was it. I can't be held responsible for anything else that is written in the media. I didn't get too invested."

Asked about the possibility of extending his contract beyond 2024, Trapp responded:

"We are in talks, but there is no big pressure. Our relationship is good. I came here from Kaiserslautern and later came back from Paris - everyone knows how comfortable I feel here. The club is on a good path and we are taking the time everyone needs.

"We won't tell you now what will happen in the end. But we have good talks, we have a good exchange. Everyone knows what they want. The club is successful, the players here also want to be successful. If I can continue to be a part of that, then of course I'd love to."
