After the DFB-Pokal 2022, SC Freiburg is facing the biggest game in the club's history when they travel to Italy to face Juventus on Thursday.

Freiburg have never reached the last 16 of the Europa League or played in Italy, and will now go head-to-head with the most successful Serie A side in history.

Juventus, however, are far from their best and sit seventh in the Serie A table, 30 points behind leaders Napoli. In addition, Maximiliano Allegri's side crashed out of the Champions League after finishing third in their group.

However, anything other than defeat in Turin would be an impressive achievement for the fifth-placed Bundesliga side.

Juventus are a great team with an incredible history, a lot of great players and a cool stadium - you always dream of playing against teams like that. But we are going there with a lot of euphoria," said Freiburg and Italy winger Vincenzo Grifo.

In terms of personnel, Juventus will be without Arkadiusz Milik, Mattia De Sciglio and Kaio Jorge, while Alex Sandro is a doubt.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh remains sidelined for Freiburg, who hope to have Michael Gregoritsch fit again after illness.
