Diadie Samassekou could have joined RB Leipzig instead of Hoffenheim.
Diadie Samassekou has explained his decision to turn down RB Leipzig for a move to Hoffenheim in the summer.
"I knew that they already had a lot of players in my position," the midfielder, who made the switch to PreZero Arena from Red Bull Salzburg, told Sport Bild.
Asked if he feels he has taken a step closer to his dream of playing in the English Premier League, Samassekou said:
"Yes, of course. Those who come here want to develop and look ahead. Apart from my injury, things have gone very well for me here so far."
Samassekou is working on his return from a muscle injury that has kept him out since September.
