The professionals from Gladbach, Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen have already offered cuts in their wages, and there are media reports that Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern München might be following.

Frank Baumann, Managing Director of Sport in Bremen, told the Bild newspaper that "We have players who absolutely identify with Werder, the employees and the fans - especially in difficult times."

According to Sport1, the Schalke team council has proposed cuts of up to 30 percent.

Rudi Völler, managing director of sport at Bayer Leverkusen, said "Everyone has to make a contribution. Of course, this also applies to those responsible in the club, such as Fernando Carro, Simon Rolfes (managing director and sporting director, editor) and me." And he continued: "We are concerned and the players too, Lars [Bender] gave me the signal. Everyone is required to help their own club".

BVB presented a step-by-step model for temporarily reducing payments. If no games take place, 20 percent should be waived, and if games are played without spectators, it should be 10 percent of the monthly salary. In addition, coach Lucien Favre has voluntarily announced a waiver of salary.
