Maximilian Arnold has spent his entire professional career at VfL Wolfsburg - and it's quite likely that his spell with the Wolves will continue beyond the summer.

With the 31-year-old midfielder's current deal expiring at the end of the season, Wolfsburg are preparing to open talks with the veteran.

“Max is our captain and record appearance holder," said Wolfsburg's supervisory board chairman, Dr. Sebastian Rudolph, in an interview with Kicker.

"During the transfer window, we set a lot of things in motion that required time. Max is aware of that. I expect that discussions about his future will take place soon. We don’t do that publicly, but internally,” he added.

Arnold has made a total of 451 appearances for Wolfsburg.
