Kicker Report: Hertha's Alderete bound for Getafe

Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that, at long last, Hertha BSC have found a taker for Paraguayan defender Omar Alderete.
Following the collapse of a permanent purchase agreement with loan club FC Valencia fell through in early May, there has been shortage of rumors regarding the next destination of Hertha BSC defender Omar Alderete over the course of the summer. No fewer than six La Liga clubs we're lined with the 25-year-old. Steffen Rohr of German footballing magazine Kicker now reports that a concrete deal nears completion.

Alderete is apparently set to head over to work under trainer Quique Sanchez Flores at Getafe CF. Alderete, who joined Hertha from Basel for €4 million on the autumn 2020 transfer deadline day, never really managed to establish himself under the various coaching regimes in the Charlottenburg quarter of the German capital. His loan out to Valencia this past season can be considered a success. The Paraguayan has increased his estimated market value to a career-high €10 million.

Unfortunately for Hertha, a built-in €7.5 million obligatory purchase clause in his loan deal with Valencia could not be activated when the Spanish side failed to qualify for Europe last year. At present, there is no information as to what sort of transfer fee the Berlin club is set to pocket for Alderete;s impending sale to La Liga's 15th placed club. Rohr does note that the deal should be finalized early this week.
