Leipzig duo ruled out for Germany's remaining friendlies

Leipzig teammates Timo Werner and Lukas Klostermann will not be available for tomorrow night's friendly against Poland or Tuesday's final June test fixture against Colombia.
Timo Werner (discomfort in his left ankle) and Lukas Klostermann (thigh injury) have both returned to Leipzig for further examinations after not traveling with the national team to Warsaw ahead of tomorrow night's friendly against Poland. Oliver Hartmann of Germany's preeminent footballing publication, Kicker Magazine, also reports that the duo have been ruled out for Tuesday's match against Colombia in Gelsenkirchen.

Werner went unused off Bundestrainer Hansi Flick's bench during Monday's 3-3 draw against the Ukraine. Klostermann played the second half and received fair-to-middling grades in the German press, which have been hammering Flick in general after what was considered a very subpar performance.

Flick will be expected to furnish some more answers about his team's perceived flop on Monday night at a presser in Warsaw scheduled for 18:30 this evening. Wholesale personnel changes are expected in the next match. Two players who only recently joined up with the team yesterday, Ilkay Gündogan and Robin Gosens, are not expected to be ready for starts tomorrow night.
