Gladbach boss rules out Pléa departure amid reports of a €50 million bid

Borussia Mönchengladbach have reportedly received a bid of around €50 million for Alassane Pléa, but the star striker will not be sold, sporting director Max Eberl underlines.
Alassane Pléa has had great success in Germany since joining Borussia Mönchengladbach from OGC Nice for a club record fee of €23 million in the summer.

Apparently, Pléa has caught interest from Chinese side Dalian Yifang who have reportedly made an offer of €50 million for the star striker.

But Gladbach are not interested in selling him, sporting director Max Eberl underlines.

"With Pléa, it doesn't make sense for me to get a player, who scored 10 goals in half a year, and then sell him for a lot of money," Eberl told RTL and continued:

"I'm more keen on sporting success than on the millions in concern."

"We want to qualify for the Champions League and go to Europe. I need a player who scores goals. Therefore, we'll not sell Plea," the Gladbach boss said.

Pléa, 25, has made 19 Bundeslig appearances and netted 10 times for Gladbach so far.
