Leverkusen to host Düsseldorf in Pokal semis, Lautern must wait to learn opponent
The draw for the 2023/24 DFB Pokal semi-finals (despite missing one of the four teams permitted to partake) took place late last night.
The postponement of the Gladbach-Saarbrücken DFB Pokal quarterfinal did not prevent the draw for the 2023/24 semis from taking place last night. Shortly after commemorating their massive league win over FC Bayern München, the favorites in the current competition (Bayer 04 Leverkusen) learned that they would be welcoming two-time DFB Pokal champions Fortuna Düsseldorf at home.
Two-time cup champions 1. FC Kaiserslautern must wait to learn their opponent. The winner of the rescheduled Gladbach-Saarbrücken fixture will face off against the Pfälzer Red Devils. Lautern either host Gladbach on the Betzenberg or west into the Saarland if the heavy underdogs manage to beat their top tier opponents. The semis of this year's tournament will take place on April 2nd and 3rd.
