Werder Bremen have reached an agreement on a new deal with head coach Florian Kohfeldt, according to WESER-KURIER.

Kohfeldt's current deal is due to run out in 2021. The exact duration of the new contract is unknown, but it will most likely run until 2023.

Werder boss Frank Baumann recently expressed his wish to extend the club's cooperation with Kohfeldt.

"It's true that we have told Florian and his consultant Mark Kosicke that we can imagine working together beyond 2021. But we have no time pressure, because the two years left of his contract until 2021 have value. I'm quite relaxed," he told WESER-KURIER.

Kohfeldt, 36, was appointed Werder coach in October 2017. He led the club to an eighth-place finish in the 2018/19 season.
