Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl still sees RB Leipzig as favorites to win the Bundesliga title.

'Die Roten Bullen' remain top of the table despite Saturday's 2-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, but saw their lead cut to just one point.

But the fact that Julian Nagelsmann's troops lost one game doesn't change anything for Eberl.

"For me, RB Leipzig were already the biggest favorites because of their performances in the first half of the season and the qualities they have. And now, they have strengthened again," Eberl told 100% Bundesliga – Fußball bei NITRO, referring to RB Leipzig's signing of Dani Olmo from Dinamo Zagreb.

Speaking after Saturday's disappointing defeat, RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann said his team are "far from being a top team" and "not on the same level as Bayern and Dortmund".

But Eberl points out that 'Die Roten Bullen' went on an impressive streak after Nagelsmann said something similar following a 2-1 loss against Freiburg in October.

"When he said that, they went unbeaten through 13 games, almost winning each of them. He has the best feeling with his team and about how to deal with it."

Eberl and Gladbach face RB Leipzig away from home in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
