Report: Wolfsburg target Portuguese league striker for summer transfer

According to German footballing magazine Kicker, VfL Wolfsburg managers Jörg Schmadtke and Marcel Schäfer have a peaking striker from the Liga Nos in their sights.
To say that the Wolfsburg administrators put together a successful summer transfer class would be an understatement. In an analysis piece covering the administrative scorecards for all 18 Bundesliga clubs on this very website, we selected Germany's green company team as the best Bundesliga club in this regard.

The likes of Maxence Lacroix, Ridle Baku, and even Bartosz Bialek proved excellent captures for the German Wolves. As the club prepares to retool over the summer, it will almost certainly be looking for attacking replacements. Wout Weghorst and Daniel Ginczek may be on the move.

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that SC Portimonense striker Norbeto Bercique Gomes Betuncal (who goes by the moniker "Beto") is a top candidate. The 23-year-old is one of the rising stars of the Portuguese league, targeted by league giants Benfica Lisbon and FC Porto.

A move to the Bundesliga for the scorer of nine league goals this season, however, may be more likely when one considers that former Wolfsburg player Robson Ponte is the sporting director of the club. Kicker cites its internal sources to report that an inquiry has been made and talks should follow soon.
