Watzke firmly denies meeting with Bayern over Gittens transfer

Borussia Dortmund chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke has dismissed reports suggesting he has held talks with Bayern boss Max Eberl regarding Jamie Gittens.

According to recent reports, Bayern Munich have renewed their interest in Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens as they seek to strengthen their wing options.

There have even been claims that Borussia Dortmund chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke met with Bayern’s sporting board member Max Eberl to discuss the winger.

However, Watzke has firmly denied this.

“No,” he told Sky Germany when asked if he had met with Eberl.

“This report is complete nonsense.”

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly demanding €65 million for Gittens.

The 20-year-old is said to have agreed personal terms with Chelsea, but the Blues have yet to agree on a transfer fee with Dortmund, leaving Bayern still in contention.
