Agent wants clarity on Emil Forsberg's RB Leipzig future

RB Leipzig must be honest and say Emil Forsberg can leave if they don't want to extend his contract, says the 29-year-old's agent.
Emil Forsberg's agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, has put pressure on RB Leipzig to decide whether they want to tie the Swedish international down to a new deal.

Forsberg's current deal expires in 2022, and Cetinkaya wants to sort out his client's future soon.

"Emil will not go into his last contract year. That's too big a risk and not something we want," the agent said in an interview with Bild and added:

"If the club have financial problems and cannot secure Emil's future, then we have to sit down together. Then everything must be on the table. The club must be honest and say that Emil can leave the club.

"We want fairness. Emil can sign a long contract elsewhere," underlined Cetinkaya.

Forsberg has played for RB Leipzig since January 2015, making 205 appearances with 45 goals and 55 assists to his name.
