Confirmed: Stuttgart loan Churlinov to Schalke without purchase option

Both VfB Stuttgart and FC Schalke 94 confirmed the season-long loan of North Macedonia winger Darko Churlinov on Wednesday afternoon.
One loan-deal reported on earlier has been confirmed. Twenty-one-year-old North Macedonian prospect Darko Churlinov should get plenty of playing time at FC Schalke 04 in the 2. Bundesliga, where he will wear the no. 7.

"Darko is an attacking all-rounder," S04 sporting director Rouven Schröder noted when announcing the deal on the club's website, "through his speed and one-on-one abilities, he's capable of consistently hassling opposing defenses. He creates dangerous situations through deep runs straight at goal and can finish with both feet."

Schröder's willingness to go into a rather unusual level of detail speaks volumes about the high regard both clubs hold the player in. Schröder's counterpart Sven Mislintat also spoke in glowing terms about Churlinov and took care to emphasize that there was no purchase option in the loan deal.

Churlinov made 16 appearances across all competitions with the newly promoted Stuttgart last year. The Skopje native also appeared twice for his national team as a substitute in this summer's European Championship.
