Confirmed: Schalke sell Zalazar to Braga

FC Schalke 04 attacker Rodrigo Zalazar's sale to SC Braga was officially confirmed on Friday evening.
Uruguayan attacker Rodrigo Zalazar has completed his switch to Portuguese club SC Braga. Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that die Königsblauen have pocketed a sizeable transfer fee of €6 million for the 23-year; a sum that will surely come in handy in their continued efforts to build a new roster for the upcoming 2. Bundesliga campaign.

"After Rodrigo told us he wanted to leave the club after two years, we looked for a suitable solution for all sides," S04 sporting director André Hechelmann noted in a statement released by the German club, "We set clear economic conditions, which Sporting Braga has now fulfilled. Rodri will always be a part of Schalker club history with his promotion goal against St. Pauli and the 60-yard goal against Nürnberg."

German broadcaster "Sport1" and the Westdeutscher Allgemeine Zeitung report that Eintracht Frankfurt - who secured a re-sale clause when selling Zalazar to die Knappen last spring - will also receive a sum in the six-figure-range. Schalke already procured a replacement for Zalazar earlier in the day in the form of SC Freiburg's Lino Tempelmann, who immediately received the Uruguayan's no. 10 tricot.
