Kahn confirms talks with Bayern are underway

Oliver Kahn has confirmed he's in negotiations with Bayern München about a potential job at the club.
Bayern München legend Oliver Kahn has revealed he has opened talks with his former club about a potential job at Säbener Strasse.

Kahn has been linked with an executive role at Bayern, and it seems the parties are moving closer to a deal.

"Everything's okay," Kahn told ZDF when he was asked to provide an update on his communication with Bayern.

"That means we're in in good talks," he elaborated.

According to Bild, Bayern want to appoint Kahn a member of the board in 2020, and if all goes according to plan, the former goalkeeper would then be able to replace Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as the club's CEO at the end of 2021.

"Of course that would be a gigantic challenge," Kahn said.

"I've dealt with a lot of things in the last few years, and I'll only take on such a challenge if I feel ready for it," he added.

Kahn, 49, played for Bayern from 1994 to 2008.
