After spending months on the sidelines due to injury, Hannes Wolf was finally able to make his debut for RB Leipzig in his side's 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Wolf, who made the switch to Leipzig from RB Salzburg in the summer, came on after 84 minutes and was overwhelmed by the reception he got.

"It was an overwhelming feeling when I ran out onto the pitch for the first time. To hear the fans cheering my name so loudly meant a lot to me," Wolf said, as quoted by the club.

"It took a lot of time and hard work for me to be match ready again after such a long time on the sidelines.

To cap off my first appearance for RB Leipzig with a win is simply amazing," he said.

Wolf and Leipzig sit second in the table, one point behind league leaders Borussia Mönchengladbach.
