After it was revealed that Schalke 04's Christopher Antwi-Adjei was racially abused during their 1-0 win over Lok. Leipzig, the German-born Ghanian issued his response.

“You shit n****r!' - Words that reached me loud and clear before making a toss. Who had it been? Allegedly unknown,” the 31-year-old wrote on Instagram.

"These words fell loudly over the lips of a spectator and clearly indicates that the same person has a problem with my skin color or where I originated.

"Racism has no place anywhere and must not be tolerated. It is shameful and disappointing that this issue is still very prevalent all over the world.

"Only a fraction of the racist insults and rhetorics against people go public. Yesterday I experienced something like that, at the cup game in Leipzig.

"That's why I use this platform to stand up for other people who have experienced something like this. Standing up against racism! Thank you all, for your uplifting messages and gestures.

"Thank you for the solidarity of my blue and white family, the club and the team members at Schalke, the referee team, some players from yesterday's opponent and thank you to everyone who does not tolerate racism and stands with many people," he wrote.
