Despite Germany’s disappointing World Cup round of 32 exit against Paraguay, Rudi Völler looks set to remain in his role as DFB sporting director.
Jürgen Klopp, who is widely expected to replace the recently dismissed Julian Nagelsmann as head coach, has made it clear that he would like to work with Völler, according to Bild.
The German tabloid reports that Klopp has already spoken with Völler on the phone and told him that he wants him to remain in his current position.
DFB vice-president Hans-Joachim Watzke has also backed Völler to continue in the role.
The 66-year-old is under contract with the DFB until after the 2028 European Championship.
